Original Lishi Kwikset 5-pin 2-in-1 (KW1) Lock Pick
NOTE: We will NO LONGER be stocking the FIVE-PIN version of this tool because the SIX-PIN version will pick the five-pin locks. You can get the SIX PIN version HERE.
Grab one while you can! The Original Lishi Kwikset (KW1) pin cylinder lock pick has changed the way we pick locks. This revolutionary-design pick tool works on any 5-pin lock using a KW1 keyway, even with security or spool pins, and it will not only pick but also decode your locks.
Having made its name in automotive lock picking, Lishi has converted its tools to now work on pin cylinders. The first of LISHI’s series of residential and commercial picks, the Kwikset (KW1) 5-pin lock pick is exquisitely designed and manufactured to Lishi’s unusually high specifications.
The Kwikset (KW1) lock pick tool will take both the time and the guesswork out of picking and decoding these locks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can You Pick a Kwikset Lock?
Yes. Standard Kwikset locks basically use the simple pin tumbler mechanism, which is common among most deadbolts and padlocks. This is what makes it fairly simple to pick, especially with an original Lishi lock pick tool.
The Lishi KW1 5-pin tool works great for reading and picking locks mounted on the left side of the door, where doing your job is a lot harder. The KW5 tool, meanwhile, works for a six-pin Kwikset lock. However, both the Kwikset KW1 and the KW5 aren’t designed to open the Kwikset Smart Lock yet.
How to Pick Locks Using the Lishi Kwikset KW1 5-pin Tool
It’s easy to pick a standard Kwikset lock with original Lishi lock picks. They use a classic single-pin picking method and require a slightly different method to open. However, with an original Lishi Kwikset KW1 tool, with its revolutionary design pick, you won’t have a problem picking locks mounted on the left side of doors or with security pins or spool pins with its needle indicator, which will tell you how much you’re depressing the pins.
To know how the tool works, you can follow tutorials online or follow these simple steps:
- Pull the pick all the way back, and gently insert the original Lishi Kwikset KW1 tool into the lock right up to the shoulder.
- Set the tension wrench. Then, gently insert the pick and run it along with the security or spool pins. When you feel one that’s more solid than the rest, that’s when you know you’ve got its binding.
- After finding the binding pin, place the pick’s tip into the center of the pin. Minimize tension to the plug as you feel the security or spool pins slightly move.
- Push the binding pin upward, making sure it hits the sheer line. You’ll know if it’s in the sheer line if you hear a click.
- With the tension tool, turn the plug. You’ve now opened the pin lock using the original Lishi KW1 5-pin tool.
What Makes the Original Lishi Picks Great?
With the KW1 2-in-1 lock pick tools, you won’t only be picking locks a lot faster; they will also make you become a better lock picker using the single-pin picking method. These tools are a great training tool for an aspiring locksmith.
The first entry in residential and commercial picks from the original LISHI, this tool works for those who want to rekey Kwikset locks. It’s also going to be a great lock-picking tool for police and law enforcement. With this pick, they can lock pick certain doors whose frame position makes reading and picking difficult and easily create a key onsite.
